FEES: $1650
- Pre-endoscopy examination with a nurse and doctor to review medical history
- Procedure
- No additional fees for polyp removal or biopsies *, and no imposed additional fees for diagnostic procedures that could detect serious conditions like colon cancer
* Biopsy analysis is done through a hospital laboratory, with results available within 4-6 weeks. Should the patient wish to receive faster results, biopsies can be sent to a private laboratory for additional fees.
A colonoscopy is a comprehensive examination of the colon, utilizing a flexible tube with a camera to inspect the entire large intestine, including the anus, rectum, sigmoid colon, descending colon, transverse colon, ascending colon, and, if necessary, the terminal ileum. The procedure aims to identify potential issues or signs of disease.
Photos of anatomical landmarks and abnormalities will be taken, and, if needed, biopsies and polyp removal will be performed for detailed analysis by a pathologist.
The procedure is carried out under conscious sedation for comfort and typically takes around 30 minutes.
Upon arrival, a nurse will assist you with the admission process, which includes reviewing your medical history, confirming the preparation details, and explaining pre-procedure guidelines. You’ll be fully informed about the steps involved during the procedure, and informed consent will be obtained. The nurse will also set up IV access, check baseline vital signs, and ensure you’re prepared for the procedure.
Please note that driving is not permitted for the remainder of the day following your test. Be sure to arrange for someone to accompany you and drive you home. Your visit is expected to take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours in total, including recovery.
After the procedure, recovery usually takes about 45 minutes. Once the doctor evaluates you, you will be discharged. A nurse will follow up with your results, and if necessary, schedule a follow-up appointment with the doctor.
Gastroscopy is a thorough diagnostic procedure used to examine the upper digestive system. A flexible tube, equipped with a camera, allows the doctor to view the esophagus, stomach, and the upper portion of the small intestine. During the procedure, photos of key areas and any abnormalities will be taken. If necessary, biopsies will be performed, and polyps may be removed for further evaluation by a pathologist.
The procedure is performed under conscious sedation to ensure patient comfort, provided the patient consents. A typical gastroscopy lasts around 15 minutes, followed by a 45-minute recovery period during which the patient is closely monitored, and vital signs are recorded.
